April 8th on Little Long Mountain along the Uwharrie Trail. Thanks to Ciara and Wilder Uwharrie Trail Running for organizing such a fun event. As you can see, we had a clear sky and nice crowd. There were about 50 here at 3:11pm when we reached a peak of 83% of total eclipse. The air cooled, sunlight subtly dimmed and a few night sounds began.
Solar eclipse glasses make the sun an orange color. The welding helmet gave it a lime green color.
An observatory atop Little Long.
It's an orange! It's a lime!
