May 4 Brevard Waterfalls

It rained most of the day but by late afternoon, the skies cleared. We are in Brevard, so there are waterfalls nearby. They say 250 but we had time only for two. Looking Glass Falls is right up the road from Brevard. Positioned right beside the road, it can draw a crowd

Lots of recent rainwater was pouring down 60 feet. It is named for the popular nearby monolith, Looking Glass, the largest monolith in the Eastern US.

Moore Cove Falls is the other one we visited. It is up the road a bit from Looking Glass Falls but is about a mile walk. We did not see anyone here. It is a 50 foot drop and has a sizeable grotto. In warmer weather, taking a photo from the grotto of someone in the waterfall shower, would make an interesting shot.

Lots of Foam Flower on the approach trail.
