Nov 19 TRLT Outdoor Challenge Day 19

 Uwharrie Trail Panther Branch

My hike today is from Tower Road south on the UT. Several tree have been reported down. The first one I encountered is .6 mile from Tower Road. Several trunks of this tree are across the trail. There is no walk around trail yet.

The second tree is much farther. at 2.2 miles from Tower Road. I cleared a short and easy walk around trail.

The final tree is about 2.7 miles in. It is the uprooted tree. The other downed trees are not across the trail.

The many American Beech trees at Panther Branch have years of carvings dating back 50 years when the trail was still young.

Tree locations are indicated.
