Nov 20 TRLT Outdoor Challenge Day 20

Reedy Fork and Laurel Bluff Trails

20th day of the Three Rivers Outdoor Challenge and I'm in Greensboro to hike two of the Watershed trails - Laurel Bluff and Reedy Fork.

Starting on the Crockett Trail, it is an easy walk to Laurel Bluff Trail. I always enjoy the large trees in the watershed. Most of this trail is near but not on Lake Townsend. There is one nice view of the lake, below.

Near the end of the trail, you enter a Bamboo forest. There is a building swallowed up in this thicket.

Crossing Lake Townsend on the road leads me to the Reedy Fork trail on the opposite side of the lake. This trail is closer to the lake and more level. It is used as a MTB trail as well. There are a couple road walks as I near the parking lot. Many many pines have recently been cut of the trail right at the parking lot on Church Street.
